Accessibility

Most families reach us on a phone, often in a second language and often in a hurry. The site is built to work in those conditions.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. We test the site at mobile widths from 360px upwards, with keyboard navigation and with a screen reader.

What we build to

  • Text contrast that meets AA against its background.
  • A visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • A skip-to-content link at the start of every page.
  • Semantic headings in order, with one main heading per page.
  • Touch targets of at least 44px on mobile.
  • No content that depends on colour alone to be understood.
  • Body text that can be resized without breaking the layout.

Reporting a problem

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use, email hello@internationalschools.org with the subject line "Accessibility". Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and the device or assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within five working days and will tell you what we intend to do and when.
